Calendar knowledge

Using an international annual calendar correctly

A focused twelve-month overview

The country calendar combines a compact month grid with ISO week numbers and the available nationwide and regional public holidays. School holidays, all ISO-week ranges, daily solar times and primary Moon phases have separate annual pages, linked directly from the country view.

Country and year remain the two central selections. Every calendar uses the localized country name and a stable URL, making it easy to bookmark or share a specific year. German and English versions point to one another with language alternatives.

National, regional and local dates

A holiday shown in a country calendar does not always apply throughout the country. Federal states, cantons, autonomous communities and municipalities may have their own rules. Regional dates are therefore marked with their stored scope instead of being presented as universally valid.

School holidays are a separate category. They follow education authorities and often vary by region or school group. Published dates are displayed only when coverage exists; a missing future period is clearly identified rather than filled with an estimate.

Planning with weeks, Sun and Moon

The dedicated ISO-week calendar lists every Monday-to-Sunday range. The solar calendar shows daily values for a named reference location, while the Moon calendar lists global primary phase instants in the configured application time zone.

Separating these topics keeps each page easier to scan and gives every dataset the explanation it needs. Official authorities remain decisive for legal deadlines, school attendance and statutory holiday status.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about annual calendars

Which years are available?
Every country has an annual calendar from 2026 through 2050. Some external datasets, especially school holidays, may be published only a few years ahead.
Are all regional holidays included?
Regional dates are shown when they exist in the stored rule or imported dataset. Each one carries a scope label; local exceptions may still require official verification.
Why are school holidays unavailable for some years?
Education authorities normally publish schedules only a limited time in advance. The site does not invent unpublished dates.
Are sunrise and sunset valid everywhere in a country?
No. They apply to the named reference location. Use the location calculator for a specific city or postal code.
Can I download public holidays?
Yes. When holiday data exists, the country calendar provides an ICS download for that year.
