Detailed guide

How to use the part-time working days

Model a fixed part-time week

Someone who regularly works Monday, Wednesday and Friday selects those three weekdays. The calculator then examines every calendar date from the start through the end. Only a selected weekday can count as a personal scheduled working day.

An applicable public holiday reduces the net total only when it falls on one of those selected days. A Tuesday holiday therefore has no effect on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule.

Choose a country, region and date range

Both boundary dates are included, and the range may cross a year boundary. For regional results, select the administrative region associated with the workplace. If no region is listed, no matching regional holiday data is available for that period.

The result separates calendar days, regularly non-working days, holidays on personal working days and the remaining net workdays. This makes differences from a general Monday-to-Friday count easy to understand.

Limits for changing schedules

The method fits weekdays that repeat every week. Rotating rosters, swapped duties and changing weeks cannot be represented completely. A repeating block schedule is better handled by the shift and duty schedule calculator.

Whether a holiday produces continued pay, a time credit or substitute rest depends on the jurisdiction and employment arrangement. This tool counts calendar occurrences and does not provide an employment-law decision.
