How to use the vacation planner
Planning leave for a continuous date range
The first and last selected dates define the complete time away. Mondays through Fridays inside that range are potential leave days. Saturdays, Sundays and applicable statutory holidays do not use the leave balance. The result directly compares required leave with total consecutive calendar days away.
For example, a period from Saturday through the Sunday of the following week contains nine calendar days but normally needs no more than five leave days. A public holiday falling on one of those weekdays can reduce the requirement further.
Setting the correct country and region
Choose the country associated with the relevant place of work. If holidays differ by state, canton or another subdivision, select the region as well. Without a region, only nationwide dates are included. The same leave period can therefore require a different number of days in two workplaces.
Not every well-known celebration is a statutory day off. Company closures, customary days and collectively agreed leave are not part of the general holiday data and must be confirmed with the employer.
Getting more time from a leave balance
A Tuesday or Thursday public holiday can often be connected to a weekend with one additional Monday or Friday. The bridge-day calculator scans a complete year specifically for those patterns and provides a useful first step for annual planning.
The most efficient date is not always the best trip. School holidays, prices, personal commitments and workplace coverage may matter more. This calculator provides a reliable calendar overview but does not replace employer approval.
